Enable iPhoto in ios8 ! ( photos application is no match)

iPhoto is not compatible with iOS 8. Sometime next year the new Photos app will be released both for Macs and mobile devices and will replace the current app.

iPhoto does no longer work with iOS 8 at all, sorry. You can only run it with iOS 7. You can however migrate the photos from iPhoto to the new Photos app.

Perhaps you should wait with the upgrade to iOS 8 until there is a better successor for iPhoto:

I Personally feel removal of a paid application in favor if a lesser ( and poory conceived ui) application, is poor customer service.

no iPhoto on my iOS devices just makes it feel less apple to me, I am not interested in a 3rd party ap, as iPhoto worked well and fit my needs.

You are not alone with those sentiments. Let the Developer Team know, so they can improve the Photos.app.

Personally, whatI am missing most, are the brushed adjustments, tags, and titles.

There is a way to downgrade to iOS 7 but it's rather complicated. How long it will be valid we don't know. This MacWorld article describes how:

Apple does not support downgrading so proceed at your own risk.

I totally agree with you. I miss iPhoto already and I've only been without it 24 hours. I'm disappointed and more than a little frustrated that it isn't there. The current Photo app stinks in comparison and the Brush retouch feature is the main thing I miss. These people are supposed to be brilliant programers, yet they screw with what works well and don't replace it with something of equal quality. Seriously irritating! I will be using the feedback form. 😠

Terrible decision by Apple to ditch iPhoto support with iOS 8. I used to use iPhoto all the time to edit my pictures and do simple stuff that was SO easy before. Now I have lost all that ability and have to do edits on my daughter's iPad 2 which still had iOS 7 (thank goodness).

I HATE this move by Apple, bring back iPhoto for those of us that loved using it!!

The iOS 8 update is a good move forward, but the effect of losing the only photo application with direct connection to my Mac has resulted in leaving me more than a little frustrated at the moment. I am also NOT INTERESTED in using another 3rd Party application, nor do I find the delay in making a replacement available to those that have paid for iPhoto, an acceptable alternative.

Apple, please listen to your users and correct this issue quickly.

Unaware of the fact that iPhoto is disabled in iOS 8, I upgraded from iOS 7.2.1. Completely unexpected and not warned on forehand, my only choice was to migrate my photos to the app Photo.

The photos that I organised in/with iPhoto are now migrated to a shoebox full of unorganised photos. The box is called "imported from iphoto". The box can be found in the app Photo.

The time I spent in organising my photos with iPhoto turned out to be a waste of time.

When I read the message of Old Toad well, we can expect another migration the beginning of next year, when Apple launches a new photo app for the Mac and maybe for iPhone/iPad devices.

Apple if you are aware of the existence of customers and their needs, please enable iPhoto under iOS8.

I am livid. I l used the artistic effects strip in iphoto constantly as a tool for my own painting, and now it is gone. When the ios8 upgrade was offered we were told of all the wonderful things we would gain, but we weren't what we would lose. I would dearly love to go back to ios7. Apple, are you listening? Fix this. Now. I want iphoto back.

I Have just realised this afternoon that the photo album that I have been creating all year of family memories as they happen, is not accessible due to the move to ios8. I am very very upset. A whole 10 months of family memories are gone. Having made two another albums with this app and had them published and sent to me, I just can't understand why Apple have done this. Bring back iPhoto for iPad. It's not fair to have taken this away with the new iOS. The first very big disappointment for me with Apple. I am distressed at the loss of this entire project. Very bad apple. Shame on you.
